Basically not much is banned here as far as character builds we will add more if necessary:
Multi-class characters are allowed, but if you take an additional class you must take at least 5 levels in each selected class before level 30. If a DM comes across you with an illegal character they are instructed to de-level you back to a point where you can create a legal one. We will be recording names too. If you keep doing this then you will be banned.
The one Exception (so far) to this Multi-Class rule is the Red Dragon Disciple. The only character type allowed to have this is the Draconians (Man-sized dragon-like Humanoids that are unique to the DL setting). If you want to take RDD then speak to a DM or post a background for the character in the forum so we know what you are doing. To start a Draconian you create a Human, the other modifications are made IG using our Appearance editor.
Races: DL Races only, so no Half-Orcs and no Halflings. If you take a Half-orc then keep in mind that you are playing a Hobgoblin, and Halflings are Kender. (Also Draconians, See RDD rules above)
DM Katdoral and I have spent time on Sub Races, which is now available, with some additional modifications, so looks better now and provides correct racial bonuses.
I have already posted the RP restrictions on Wizards, Sorcerers and Clerics. I expect players to follow the RP guidelines. Abuse of Clerical and or Magic powers will entail consequences.
Examples:
- PC Cleric of Mishakal heals someone in full view of NPCs in Solace or Haven. Said Cleric is sitting in an Inn, having Tea, and a troop of Seeker Guards dog-pile her and haul and haul her off for 'questioning'.
- Mage of the Tower casts a few fireballs at unsuspecting town-dwellers. Later, while toasting marshmallows, the Mage is set upon by the Tower Renegade Hunters and hauled off to have the magic sucked out of his head and spend the rest of his days mopping the Tower floors.
One thing that will not be tolerated is where ONE PLAYER logs in with two characters and using one to buff the other. I know there are couples out there who log in from the same home router. If you and your friend log in from the same Router then please announce yourselves to the DMs. We will not ban logging in from the same IP address, but we are going to monitor it. If a DM finds evidence of abuse your CD key(s) (Both of them) will be banned from the server.
PvP is set to Full and we use D&D Hard Core Rules. But, if you attack other players be aware of the consequences. If you attack a Tower Mage Character, and it is witnessed (even by NPCs) the Tower will hunt you (No-Meta-Gaming though). Likewise, if you attack DA, Knights, Dwarves, Elves, Thieves' Guild, etc. In the coming months we will be making Reaction Tokens for each of these. If you attack these factions there will be consequences.
Examples of consequences:
- The Knights are looking for you for the murder of a PC Knight. You are trying to get some sleep in the Inn room and all of a sudden a troop of Knights bust into your room beat you down and haul you off to face justice.
- The Tower is looking for you for assassinating a mage. You are walking down the road, minding your own business (for once) and - Wallup! - Asmodeus appears in front of you, beats you down and takes you to Hell! Bummer eh?
- Believe me, there are many possible ways to deal with this. You have been warned!
Attacking Commoners, Merchants or Defenders. There are special, more or less neutral (to the WotL anyway) NPCs that some players out there seem to like to pick on. If you do so then be aware that your character will get a Token Called the Arrest Warrant. Once you have one of these then be aware that Defenders will attack you, Commoners will run from you and so will Merchants. Stores will be closed to you. Once you have this token you may, if you wish, Use it to 'Turn Yourself In'. Your character will be tpted to the PC Jail area, you can then pick a Jail some where in the Mod to wait for judgment.
- A DM will listen to your story, who knows, you might convince one to give you another chance.
We are not going to have any Assassination Rules on this server. An Assassin's Guild may exist (hehehe they are a secret order after all), but if you have a beef with a player this is not the place to resolve it. I will put in an OOC Area, eventually, you can then go there and bash away, but IG is always IC. PvP must make sense for RP.
Oh yeah, If you like to bully other players with an uber toon -- fair warning -- the DMs will have something interesting for you to do, since you are obviously bored.
